Visiting Scholar Position Available

The Global Korean Studies program in Sogang University’s School of Media, Arts, and Science is looking for a visiting scholar who will be in charge of lectures in the area of Korean history, religion, and culture.

○ Period of Appointment: 1 Sep. 2021- 31 Aug. 2022

○  Number of Positions: 1

○ Duties: Lectures

- Topics in Korean Traditions: History, Religion, Literature.

- Translated Korea: The Social History of Concepts in Korea

○ Eligibility:

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

1. Must have no grounds for disqualification for appointment as a private school professor

2. Must be an international professor holding native English proficiency

3. Must have no legal employment restrictions stemming from a court ruling on a sexual offense and must have never been previously convicted for a sexual offense

○ Required Documents: 

1. Course syllabi

2. Certificate of (Current) Employment

3. Certification of Terminal Degree

Upon final notification of acceptance, further documentation must be submitted to the Office of Academic Administration, including a Reply to Inquiry into Sexual Criminal Records, a Consent Form for the Collection and Use of Personal Information, a photocopy of identification, and a bankbook photocopy.
